..i ..i
27 October 2006
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0950
The laboratory report for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations.
2.4. SOIL DISPOSAL
After soil disposal characterization, the hydrocarbon-impacted excavated soil will be transported to
the appropriate, licensed landfill for disposal.
2.5. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the soil removal activities. The report will include a description of the
work performed and the results of the sampling and analysis. Conclusions and applicable
recommendations will be included in the report. The report will be in a format acceptable to the EHD
and CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Professional Geologist. Procedures for soil excavation, soil sampling, and equipment
decontamination are outlined below.
3.1. SOIL EXCAVATION PROCEDURES
The excavation will provide for the removal of a significant amount of impacted soil within the
present vadose zone. The soil will be excavated using an excavator, stockpiled on-site,then covered
by a plastic tarp. The excavated soil will be field screened for the presence of volatile organic
compounds using an OVM.Based on OVM readings and field observations, the excavated soil will
be segregated into clean soil and impacted soil;only soil exhibiting hydrocarbon odors or measured
OVM readings will be disposed to a licenced landfill. Prior to disposal, the hydrocarbon-impacted
soil will be characterized by a DHS-certified laboratory. After soil characterization, trucks will be
utilized to transport the waste material for proper disposal.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
