Site Background Information Prem Dar <br /> Page 2 of 7 <br /> PREVIOUS SITE ASSESSMENTS <br />' On 15 and 16 October 2002, three soil borings B 1 though B3 were advanced to a depth of 35 feet <br /> below surface grade (bsg), utilizing a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit <br />' equipped with 1 25-mch probing rods,for the collection and analysis of soil and`grab'groundwater <br /> samples After probing to a depth of 25 feet bsg,ground water was found to be at approximately 22 <br /> feet bsg Soil boring B1 was advanced in the northwest comer of the former UST excavation Soil <br />' boring B2 was advanced approximately five feet east of the former UST excavation and soil boring <br /> B3 was advanced approximately ten feet southwest of the former UST excavation <br />' A total of six soil samples were analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbon products TPH-g was detected <br /> in soil samples collected from all three borings at a maximum concentration of 22,000 milligrams <br />' per kilogram(mg/kg),in sample B2-15 TPH-d was detected in soil samples collected from borings <br /> B 1 and B2 at a maximum concentration of 7,500 mg/kg in sample B2-15 BTEX compounds were <br /> detected in soil samples collected from all three borings at maximum concentrations of 1 1 mg/kg, <br />' 460 mg/kg, 320 mg/kg and 1830 mg/kg, respectively,in sample B2-15 Lead was detected by EPA <br /> Method 6010B in one soil sample collected in boring B2 at a concentration of 59 mg/kg, in sample <br /> B2-15 No additional target analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the soil <br /> 10 <br /> samples analyzed <br /> A grab ground water sample was collected from each of the three borings on 15 and 16 October 2002 <br />' and were analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbon products TPH-g was detected in ground water <br /> samples collected from each boring at a maximum concentration of 170,000µg/l in boring B2 TPH- <br /> d was detected in ground water samples collected from borings B1 and B2 at a maximum <br />' concentration of23,000µg/1 in boring B2 BTEX compounds were detected in groundwater samples <br /> collected from all three borings at maximum concentrations of 550 gg/1(B3),23,000µg/1(B 1),6,100 <br /> µg/1(Bl) and 33,000 µg/I(Bl), respectively 1,2-DCA was detected in ground water samples <br />' collected from all three borings at a maximum concentration of 54 µg/1 m sample B3 EDB was <br /> detected in ground water samples collected from all three bonngs at a maximum concentration of <br /> 190 µg/1 in sample B2 No additional target analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection <br />' limits in the ground water samples analyzed <br />' On 09, 10 and 16 October 2003, four soil borings (MW 1 through MW3 and B4)were advanced at <br /> the site A CME-75HT truck mounted drill ng or a CME-75 limited access drill ng were utilizing <br /> to advance 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers to the total depth of each boring Pilot borings <br />' MW 1, MW2 and MW3 were completed as ground water monitoring wells using 2-inch diameter <br /> PVC casing,with 0 020-inch slotted screen installed from approximately 14 feet to 34 feet bsg The <br /> filter pack(No 2/12 Lonestar sand)was installed from approximately 12 feet to 34 feet bsg, and a <br />' nominal 2-foot bentonite chip plug was then installed above the filter pack and hydrated The wells <br /> were then grouted to near the surface with portland cement,and water-tight,traffic-rated well boxes <br /> were installed over the wells <br />' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br /> I <br />
