' Site Background Information
PREM DOR
' 433 West Scotts Street, Stockton, California
The site is on West Scotts Avenue approximately 250 feet east of the intersection with Lincoln
' Street, in an industrial/commercial area of West Stockton (Figure 2) The site is situated In an area
of low topographic relief at an estimated elevation of 13 feet above sea level(Figure 1) The property
is currently occupied by the Prem Dor Corporation
1
REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING
' The site is situated within the southern portion of the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of
' California, a large, elongate, northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough, the northern and
southern portions of the Province have been designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys,
respectively The Province is bordered by the Coast Ranges to the west, the Klamath Mountains and
' Cascade Range to the north, and the Sierra Nevada to the east
The Great Valley has been filled with sediments derived from both marine and continental sources
' Thickness of the sedimentary fill ranges from thin veneers along the valley edges to more than
20,000 feet in the south central portion of the valley The sedimentary formations range in age from
Jurassic to Recent, with the older deposits being primarily marine in origin and the younger deposits
l
ie being primarily continental Continental-denved sediments were primanly deposited in iacustrme,
fluvial, and alluvial environments with sediment sources being the mountain ranges surrounding the
valley, the site itself is located on unconsolidated and semi-consolidated alluvium, lake, playa and
terrace deposits of Quaternary age Rocks composing the basement complex of the Province have
not been completely defined but are believed to be metamorphic and igneous in origin
IThe Modesto, Riverbank and Turlock Lake Formations and overlying Recent alluvium are the
principal sources of domestic ground water in the 13,500-square mile San Joaquin Valley Ground
Water Basin (Basin 5-22)
UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
It is our understanding that two underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site in
March 2002 The USTs were reportedly utilized for the storage and dispensing of gasoline and
diesel Concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d), gasoline
(TPH-g), volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes - BTEX) and total lead
were detected in soil samples collected from the UST excavation
Based upon the analytical results of soil samples collected during UST removal, the EHD required
the preparation of work plan to define the lateral and vertical extent of contamination in soil and
ground water
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
