APR 22 '91 10:37 ERM-WEST (916) 444-5313 P.
Mr. Harlin Knoll April 22, 1991
a Preparation of a brief report of the findings of the additional
investigation to be designated as Appendix K of the March 1991
Site Assessment Report,
Figure A•1 shows the locations of the proposed borings. Boring 1.1 will be
installed to determine the maximum depth of occurrence of the product
identified in the August 1989 soil investigation. We estimate that the total
depth of this boring will be 40 to 45 feet. Two soil samples for laboratory
analysis will be submitted from Boring 11. One sample will be submitted for
purposes of further waste characterization. The other sample will be a
clean confirmation sample from the bottom of the hole.
Borings 12 and 13 will be installed to confirm the lateral extent of the
product affected soil on the eastern perimeter of the original borings
installed in August 1989. These borings are not expected to encounter any
product affected soil. Any product affected soil encountered in Borings 12
and 13 will be noted on the boring logs. No samples from Borings 12 and 13
will be submitted for laboratory analysis.
Procedures for boring installation, sample collection and Dandling, and
boring abandonment will be as previously described in the Workplan.
i 10, 31923"T
APR go i9t
ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
PERMR/SERVICES
A-2
