Scotts ; Stockton, CA <br /> Please be advised that this office has reviewed the above <br /> ^eferc•nc•ed workplan and have found ,it to be adequate providing <br /> the following items and attached check list are addressed in the <br /> Preliminary Assessment Report (PAR) : <br /> 1 . Continuous sampling is an acceptable screening technique. <br /> However, we suggest the following to assure the site <br /> definition is comprehensive : <br /> ;. Clarify your proposed screening mechanism. <br /> b. We recommend that the hollow stem auger boreholes be <br /> continuously cored to supply detailed lithologic logs <br /> of this subsurface geology. The information obtained <br /> from there borings would then be used to select <br /> monitoring well locations and construction designs to <br /> define -the vertical and horizontal extent of <br /> hydrocarbon contaminated groundwater. Perform at least <br /> one continuous core drilling in order to illustrate, in <br /> cross—sectional diagrams the site stratigraphy. <br /> C. Submit as a minimum the bottom of the hole sampl.e for <br /> laboratory analyses to verify "zero line <br /> contamination. <br /> C_ Refer to table 2 in "the Regional Board Staff <br /> Recommendations- for the Minimum Verification Analyses to be <br /> oerformed fat- soil and groundwater.
