x
YL
SAMPLE('ni:L1?CTIi)N
Following well development, water samples were obtained by
lowering a decontaminated rl'E;flon bailer into the well. The sample
,,eater was immediately transforred by gently pouring the contents of
the bsiler into a clean volatile organic analysis (VOA) vial,
completely. Care was taken to minimize any agitation of the water
sample. The sample vial was then capped with a Teflon septum cap
such that zero headspace was achieved, and no air bubbles were
visible when turned upside-down.
Groundwater for TPH analysis was lolls ctedtusing, tilebaileri ser and
transferred into a 1-liter amber g
Ple
containers (VOA vial and 1-liter amber glass) were labeled with the
well number, date, time, sampler's initials, location, and analysis
required, and delivered iinmediatcly to the on-site mobile laboratory.
Each sample was logged onto a chain-of custody form (See Appendix
H),
N'I'AFNATEN71'XND DISPOSAL
All purge water from the development of the wells was placed in a 55-
gallon drum pending the results of the groundwater analyses.
Following laboratory confirmation of the absence of any petroleum
fuel constituents in the water samples, the bail water was disposed of
on-site.
AMPLE ANALYSIS
1
Soil samples were an: }'i .t both 'I`PH-Diesel and Gasoline by EPA
Method 8015 modif-ed .i,td 1311'X&E by EPA Alethod 8020. Soil samples
analyzed for TPH-D were prepared by
EPA Method 3550 using
sonication. Soil samples analyzed for BT.X&E were prepared using
EPA Method 5030 (purge and trap). Total petroleum hydrocarbons as
in
soil samples were analyzed and characterized by
Chromatography/Flame ionization Detection (GCFID', with a fused
capillary column.
Nater samples were analyzed for TPPAsel thud Gas lineMethods by of
Method 8015 modified and BTX&E by ' '
preparation and analysis of all soil and water samples are
summarized in Table 2-1 along with target detection limits.
All sample analyses were performed by a mobile laboratory provided
by Sequoia Analytical of redwood City, a State-of-Cali fornia-certified ted quality
laboratory which maintaisls well-established t art snd Sequoia Analytical
assurance/quality control (QAIQC) programs.
strictly adheres to Section 10 ("Quality Control/Quality Assurance")
2-S
S7R17177E7flla ®117n''lIM71 i
