LOW OFFICES
GILC131RIST Sc RUTTER
PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION
Ms. Elizabeth A. Thayer
October 18 , 1994
Page 2
by ChemRask, including, ultimately, the just-submitted Closure
Report.
2 . Logs for borings B-11 B-12 SFW-1-1 SFW-2-1 and
SFW-3-1 and wells MW-1 MW-2 and MW-3 . Those logs are, we
understand, included in ERM-West' s March 1991 Final Site
Assessment Report, which is enclosed.
3 . Quarterly ground water monitoring reports. The
Closure Report by ChemRi.sk includes the data from quarterly
groundwater monitoring by ERM-West on behalf of Santa Fe, through
May 1993 when the last monitoring was done. We understand that
Santa Fe did not continue monitoring after that time, so that
more recent results are not now available.
As we discussed, we would be most appreciative if you
would let us know if the available information is sufficient for
a favorable determination on the closure recommendation, or
whether you would require current monitoring results. Naturally,
• the parties would prefer not to incur the considerable expense of
additional monitoring if it is unnecessary. Please let us know
about that as soon as possible so that we can expedite any
additional monitoring if needed. Thank you.
4 . Ground water data, including around water
elevations and the ground water flow directions. Information in
response to this request as included an the Closure Report (and
some information along these lines is included in the earlier
reports as well) .
5 . A Final Remediation Report. This is not applicable
in view of the recommendation for closure of the site "as is. "
As we discussed, some contaminated soil from the site of the
excavation was apparently removed for disposal at the time of the
tank pull in January 1988 (this is noted in the November 1989
report by ERM-West) . we understand that the remaining affected
soil has been the subject of study and risk assessment since that
time, culminating an the closure recommendation by San Joaquin
County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division,
without further remedial action.
6 . Results of remediation. See item 5 above.
7 . A Closure Report complying with Appendix B of the
Tri-Regional Recommendations. As noted above, ChemRisk has
• supplied such a Closure Report to you under separate cover.
