Second Street, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Maragliano:
In accordance with your request.Advanced GeoEnvironniental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this report
for excavation and soil sampling activities perfoniied at the referenced property. Site investigation
was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Env ironmental
Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) requirements for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites_ The
location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 - Location Asap. A plan of the site is illustrated on
Figure 2 - Site Plan.
In August 1990, UST Nos. 1 and 2 were removed from the southwest corner of the site. Petroleuri
hydrocarbons were not detected in samples collected beneath UST Nos. 1 or 2. Bctv, cen 1985 and
1986, two 1,000-gallon diesel underground storage tanks (UST Nos. 3 & 4) were removed from a
common excavation along the eastern property line. In August 1990, soil samples %were collected
from the former location of USTs Nos. 3 and 4. Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel
(TPH-d) were detected in samples collected froth the east and west ends of the southern UST at
concentrations of 1,800 parts per million (ppm) and 81 ppm, respectively. The PHS-FHD
subseyueritly required further investigation of the former location of UST Nos. 3 and 4.
On 02 May 1997, overexcavation of the former location of UST Nos. 3 and 4 was performed. The
excavation was expanded to approximately 15 by 15 feet and to a depth of approximately 7 feet
below surface grade (bsg). Excavation was performed by a representative of M & M Ditching. One
soil sample was collected from the southeast corner of the excavation at the direction of Mr. Steve
Sasson of the PHS-EHD.
The sample was collected in a 2 by 3-inch brass sleeve. The ends of the sample were covered with
Teflon sheets, capped and scaled with tape. The samples were labeled, stored on ice and transported
]803 Wcst March Lane, Suitc.
