I
IQuarterly Report - First Quarter 2005
LANGSTON'S MARKET
I15615 South 7" Street, Lathrop, California
lA. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr James Langston of Langston's Market, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
(AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 15615 South 7111 Street,Lathrop,
California The scope of work included the performance of a quarterly ground water monitoring
event and preparation of this report The location of the site and surrounding area are illustrated on
Figure 1 Structures, soil borings, and monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Details
of previous investigations are summarized in Appendix A
2.0. PROCEDURES
On 22 March 2005,a quarterly ground water monitoring event was performed at the site Field work
was conducted in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) guidelines for
investigating underground storage tank (UST) sites and sampling ground water monitoring wells,
respectively
r
2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
A Solmst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in ground water
monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water
elevations and gradient were determined from this data (Table 1)
After recording water level measurements,a dedicated, disposable plastic bailer was used to evacuate
I (purge) each monitoring well of standing water Approximately 7 to 25 gallons of water were
removed from wells MW-2 through MW-8 Monitoring well MW-1 was purged dry after 15 gallons
of water had been evacuated Ground water temperature, pH, and conductivity were measured at
regular intervals during the purge process using an Oakton water analyzer Field data sheets are
included in Appendix B Purged water was stored on-site in properly labeled, Department of
' Transportation (DOT)-approved 55-gallon drums
' 22 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Following purging, the depth to ground water was re-measured to ensure that a minimum of 80%
' well-volume recharge had been achieved prior to sampling Water samples were collected from each
purged well using the dedicated, disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was transferred into
. three laboratory-supplied,40-milliliter(ml)volatile organic analysis(VOA)vials containing 0 5 ml
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
