• 23 June 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0511 <br /> Page 2 of 8 <br /> On 12 March 1998, WHF, Inc and HKM Environmental, Inc conducted field measurements, well <br /> purging and ground water sampling on the four ground water monitoring wells at this site Petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon-impacted ground water was detected in samples collected and additional site assessment <br /> was required <br /> 22 ADDITIONAL SITE ASSESSMENT <br /> On 16 April 1999 four soil probe borings were advanced at the site using a Geoprobe soil probing <br /> unit Soil and grab ground water samples were collected and analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbon- <br /> impact TPH-g, BTEX and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) were detected in grab ground water <br /> samples from on- and off-site Additional site assessment is required to determine the extent of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-impact to soil and ground water <br /> In a letter dated 08 May 2000, PHS-EHD directed further site investigation to determine the vertical <br /> and lateral extent of ground water contamination on- and off-site <br /> • 3.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Based on the laboratory results from soil and ground water sampling, an unauthorized release of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon compounds and fuel constituents has occurred at the site AGE proposes the <br /> installation of four ground water monitoring wells for the utilization of repeatable sampling events <br /> Additionally, soil and grab ground water samples will be collected during the soil boring <br /> advancement The proposed phase of work will consist of the following tasks <br /> • Permitting and pre-field work activities, <br /> • SoiI sample collection and analysis, <br /> • Monitoring well installation, development and sampling, and <br /> • Report preparation <br /> 3 1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable permits will be obtained from the PHS-EHD and City of Lathrop Public Works <br /> Department Additionally, a site-specific Health and Safety Plan will be prepared Prior to <br /> mobilization, each soil boring location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained <br /> through Underground Service Alert The PHS-EHD will be contacted 48 hours prior to conducting <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
