I
' 27 April 2004
• AGE-NC Project No 98-0511
' 32 RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLE ANALYSIS
Toluene and ethylbenzene were detected in MW-1 at concentrations of 0 79 micrograms per liter
' (µg/1)and 1 2 µg/l,respectively BTEX constituents were not detected in samples collected from the
other seven wells
Utilizing EPA Method 8260B, MTBE was detected in the ground water samples collected from
MW-1, MW-3 and MW-5 at concentrations of 2 1 µg/1, 8 5 gg/1 and 79 µg/1, respectively In
' addition, 1,2-DCA was detected 1n MW-5 at a concentration of 19 µg/1 No other fuel additives were
detected above laboratory reporting limits
Analytical results of ground water samples are summarized on Tables 2 and 3 The inferred lateral
distribution of TPH-g,benzene and MTBE is illustrated on Figure 4 Copies of the laboratory report
(MAI Lab IDs 0312366-001 through 0312366-008) and chain-of-custody forms are provided in
Appendix C
I• 4 0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE concludes the following
' On 17 December 2003 the ground water elevation in the monitored area averaged 1 36 feet
above MSL with the ground water elevation increasing approximately 1 14 feet since the
Iprevious quarter The ground water flow direction was inferred to be generally southwesterly,
consistent with previous flow directions, with a relatively flat hydraulic gradient of
0 002 ft/ft
• TPH-g was not detected in the samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-8
• Toluene and ethylbenzene was detected in sample MW-1 BTEX constituents were not
detected in samples collected from the other seven monitoring wells
• MTBE was detected in samples MW-1, MW-3 and MW-5 at concentrations of 2 1 µg/l,
I 8 5 µg/1 and 79 gg/l,respectively The detected concentrations of MTBE in samples MW-3
and MW-5 were above the Secondary MCL (5 pg/1) for MTBE in drinking water
I Hydrocarbon-impacted ground water is not defined laterally along the upgradient, east side
of the site
Advanced Geo E im ro n menta 1,1nc
