The site currently houses the Tracy Rural Fire Station Company#1 which
was the agency that formerly operated awunderground storage tank. There are no operating underground storage
tanks currently located on site. One underground storage tank was removed on December 12, 1988, at which time
two soil samples and a grab groundwater sample was collected. The contamination which was evidenced was
further investigated on August 21, 1997,at which time very limited contamination was evidenced. The submittal of
the report summarizing the August 1997 investigation included a recommendation that the site be closed and no
further action required. PHS/EHD concurs with this recommendation based on available information.
1988
9/26188 San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division(PHS/EHD)issued a permit
to remove one 1,000 gallon gasoline underground storage tank(UST)with the state identification
number of 39-1414-01.
10/12/88 Tank number 39-1414-01 was!removed this date and two soil samples were collected from beneath the
former underground storage tank. Water was observed in the tank pit.at I I feet below ground surface
and a grab groundwater sample was collected. The following is a summary of the analytical results
obtained from the samples collected at the time of tank removal. The PHS/EHD inspector noted that the
tank was in poor condition and corroded.
Sample 1D Benzene Toluene Ethylbenzene Xylene TPH-gas EDB Total
Lead
#1@10'(soil) <0.20 <0.20 <0.20 <0.20 <1.0 <0.02 9.4
#2@11' (soil) <20.0 55.0 32.0 100.0 590.0 <2.0 11.0
#3@11' (water) X5.0 18.0 <5.0 11 <200.0 NA 0.84
Note: All results in ppm either mg/kg for soil or mg/1 for water.
EDB: Ethylene Dibromide
NA: Not Analyzed
10/24/88 The UST was disposed at Schnitzer Steel Products at 12000 Folsom Bivd. in Rancho Cordova CA.
11/9188 PHS/EHD reviewed the analytical results obtained from the samples collected at the time of tank
removal and filed Proposition 65 notification and an Unauthorized Release report.
1994
03/08/94 PHS/EHD issued correspondence requesting that an UST Cleanup Fund Application be submitted and
which notified the responsible party that an unauthorized release report had been filed.
1996
12/17/96 PHS/EHD issued a Notice of Reimbursement which officially notified the responsible part that the site
was placed into the Local Oversight Program.
1997
8/21/97 Three soil borings were drilled and sampled. Grab groundwater samples were collected which evidenced
very limited contamination. See the attached report"Summary Report for Subsurface Investigation"
dated October 6, 1997 which includes the boring logs prepared during the investigation.
12/22/97 PHS/EHD recommends that the site be closed and no further action required, based on available
information.
. r
