Weber Street, Third Floor Stockton, CA 95202 I I Subject: Summary Report for Subsurface Investigation at Tracy Rural Fire Station#1, I 22484 South Seventh Street, Banta, California Dear Ms. Meays: Smith Technology Corporation (ATC Associates) has prepared this letter report, on behalf of the Tracy Rural Fire District to summarize findings of the subsurface investigation performed at the above referenced site (Figure 1). The purpose of the subsurface investigation was to determine the extent-of residual soil and groundwater contamination. This work was-done at the request of San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). The findings of the subsurface investigative study are summarized in the following paragraphs. SITE LOCATION The site is located on the south side of Grant Line Road and the east side of South Seventh Street in Banta, California, as shown on Figure 1. The location is a residential and commercial area. The site is currently occupied by Tracy Rural Fire Station #1. BACKGROUND In October 1988, one 1,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) and associated piping was removed from the location shown on Figure 2. A soil sample was collected from each end of the tank at approximately 11 feet below ground surface and a water sample was collected from the groundwater.that was present in the bottom of the tank pit. Analytical testing indicated the collected samples contained detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents.
