Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RB) Notification
Date Submitted to RB: 12/30/97 Response Date: 1/16198
RB Staff: Pat Anderson Response: No Further Action Concurrence
Title: Hydrogeologist
VI I. Additional Comments: Jeanne Homsey, Registered Professional Engineer#C047410, with Smith Environmental
Technologies recommended that there be no further action and that the site be granted closure. These recommendations
were based on the following statements. "Analytical results for soil samples are generally consistent with field observations
and PID readings. Based on the analytical results and field observations, the soil beneath the site does not appear to be
impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. The grab groundwater sample collected from boring SB2 contained benzene and
TPH-g at concentrations slightly greater than their detection limits of 0.5 ppb and 50 ppb respectively. The concentrations of
benzene in the grab groundwater sample from boring SB2 is below the California Primary Maximum Contaminant Level
(MCL) for drinking water of 1.0 ppb for benzene. Boring SB3, located in the.inferred groundwater downgradient direction,
contained no detectable petroleum hydrocarbons.
This document and the related CASE CLOSURE LETTER, Shall be retained by the lead agency as part of the official
site file.
