Interim Soil Remediation Work Plan <br /> UNIVERSAL SWEEPING SERVICES <br /> 1113 Shaw Road, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr. Joe Vella of Universal Sweeping Services, Advanced <br /> Geo Environmental, Inc. (AGE)has prepared the enclosed Interim Soil Remediation Work Plan for <br /> the property located at 1113 Shaw Road, Stockton, California. The location of the site is illustrated <br /> on Figure 1 -Location Map. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan. <br /> This Work Plan is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> (SJCEHD)and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for <br /> the investigation of UST sites. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The site is presently occupied by Universal Sweeping Services. The site was formerly occupied by <br /> Bobcat Central, an equipment sales and maintenance facility. <br /> 2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is bounded on the west by Highway 99 and on the east by Shaw Road. Light industrial <br /> facilities are located north and south of the property. A single large warehouse-type structure is <br /> located on the property. <br /> 2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> Three USTs and associated piping and dispenser island were removed from the site on 02 April <br /> 2003. One UST was utilized to dispense diesel fuel;one UST was utilized to dispense gasoline; and <br /> a third UST was utilized for waste oil. A total of seven soil samples were collected from beneath <br /> the USTs and dispenser island. Three soil samples were collected from the excavated soil. Samples <br /> were transported to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories, a California Department of Health <br /> Services certified laboratory. <br /> Methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE)was detected in a soil sample collected beneath UST-1 at 0.031 <br /> milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg or parts per million). Xylenes were detected in a sample from the <br /> stockpiled soil at a concentration up to 0.073 mg/kg. Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as <br /> diesel(TPH-d)were detected in sample D-2(dispenser island)at 590 mg/kg;TPH as gasoline(TPH- <br /> Advanced Geo Environmental <br />
