Samples collected it 1.5 and 20 feet contained petri deur- <br /> underground storahydrocarbons in the diesel range, and very low conc :ntrations of ethvlbenzene and v. lens. <br /> The sample at 15 feet was collected from the soil th; t had been placed back into the <br /> excavation after the tank removal; the sample at 20 : set is thought to have been colle:ted r <br /> from native soil just below the base of the excavatio L. R <br /> i <br /> The water sample that was collected at a depth of 2 :set frons boring B3 was highly <br /> contaminated with diesel, as expected. This water w Es perched within the railroad ba last <br /> above the native clayey silt bed, and is not considers i to be groundwater.
