1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Compass Group U.S.A. has retained AlPlied Earth Sciences' Inc. (AES)to perform environmental services at the former <br /> Canteen facility at 1500 Shaw Road, Stockton,Califoriria. <br /> the well being of all field personnel and the cominunity surrounding the site. <br /> The Site Safety Plan is written to ensure <br /> must follow the policies and procedures established in the Site Safety Plan. All personnel <br /> Accordingly AES project staff <br /> assigned to this project must sign the Agreement and Aclaiowledgement Sheet (Appendix A-2) to confirm that they <br /> understand and agree to abide by the provisions of the pian. <br /> All work will comply with the OSHA Standard, "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response," (29 CFR <br /> 1910.120)and other federal,state and local procedures that recpiire the development and implementation of a Site Safety <br /> Program.A co of this program may be obtained from the Corporate Health <br /> Plan,as well as the AES Health and Safety ProgPY P <br /> and Safety Officer(CHSO). <br /> This plan addresses the safety issues associated with petroleum hydrocarbon release operations typically involving the <br /> following site tasks: <br /> • Field Survey[Walkover • Aquifer Pump Test <br /> • Drilling/Boring Soil Sampling • Tank Removal <br /> • Well Installation • Excavation/Trenching <br /> • Well Monitoring and Maintenance • Confined Space Entry <br /> t <br /> • Soil Gas Survey • Groundwater Sampling <br /> • Remediation System Installation, Operation and Maintenance`s <br /> All activities of this project will be carried out no less than Level D or Modified Level D Personal Protective Equipment <br /> (PPE). This Site Safety Plan must be modifi(cd or amended when circumstances or conditions develop that are beyond <br /> the scope of routine underground storage tank removal or.ground water monitoring operations. Some conditions beyond <br /> the scope of this Site Safety and Health Plan may include: <br /> • Presence of Chlorinated Solvents • Confined Space Entry <br /> • presence of Pesticides x • Troubleshooting Energized Equipment <br /> • Level B Work • Presence of Non-Hydrocarbon Materials <br /> Any changes in project work scope arid/or site conditions as described must be amended in writing by the Project Manager <br /> (PM)on the Site Safety Plan Amendment Sheet (Appendix A-.1) and approved by the Regional Health and Safety Officer <br /> (RHSO). <br /> Table l-1 presents an overview of die-Applied Earth Sciences,Inc. health and safety programs in which all field personnel <br /> 1 <br />
