Site Delineation and RAP Addendum Proposal April 16,2008
Former Canteen f=acility—1500 Shaw Rd Page 6
• Soil samples will be analyzed for BTEX and oxygenate constituents by EPA Method SW846-
8260, TPH by EPA Method SW846-8015, and total lead by EPA Method SW846-6010. In
addition, the composite soil sample from the drums will be analyzed for reactivity, corrosivlty,
ignitibility, and TCLP Benzene for waste disposal characterization.
A site pian, with the proposed delineation well and soil boring locations, is presented as Figure 1.
Groundwater Sampling
• Following the installation of the monitor wells and soil borings, a groundwater monitoring event
shall be conducted at the site. If possible, the event will be timed to coincide with the normal
quarterly monitoring schedule for the site. If not, the new wells will be sampled upon completion
of installation.
• Each new well will be developed by the groundwater sampling crew.
• Groundwater samples will be analyzed for BTEX and oxygenate constituents by EPA Method
SW846-8260 and TPH by EPA Method SW846-8015.
• Well development and sampling purge water will be stored in sealed drums on-site, pending
proper disposal with other quarterly groundwater sampling purge water.
Report and RAP Addendum
• An assessment report will be prepared of the delineation activity results. The report will include a
summary of field activities, well and boring logs, updated data tables and graphs, and figures
which graphically display pertinent information.
• Geologic cross-sections will be updated to reflect the stratigraphic data obtained during the latest
assessment.
• Based upon the delineation data, a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) Addendum will be prepared.
Delta's expectations are that a remediation system upgrade may be required to address lingering
hydrocarbon concentrations in the deeper wells at the site.
• The RAP Addendum will include multiple bids for any equipment, drilling, or construction
associated with a system upgrade.
SCHEDULE
Delta is prepared to begin the delineation work upon approval from Compass. The SJCPHS has already
provided their approval for proceeding with this scope of work. Delta expects the drilling activities to begin
within 30 days of approval, pending resolution of any permitting issues with the City of Stockton. The
assessment report and RAP Addendum will be submitted to the SJCPHS and the Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board within 10 weeks of the completion of field activities.
COST ESTIMATE
The estimated costs associated with the scope of work outlined herein are presented on Table 1,
attached. Delta will conduct this work in accordance with the Master Services Agreement dated January
2, 1996, between Applied Earth Sciences, Inc. (now Delta) and Compass Group, USA Division. These
estimated costs are based on the anticipated scope of work described above. Unforeseen circumstances,
or the need for changes in the proposed work plan that may become evident during the course of the
