Suttenfield Rd Underground Injection Control (UIC)
Acampo, CA. 95220.
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed
Limited Site Assessment Work Plan (Septic Tank Area) dated February 3, 2003
as submitted by Advanced GeoEnviron mental, Inc (AGE) and offers the following
comments.
The proposal was submitted as required in EHD correspondence dated January
27, 2003 as a result of hazardous materials being introduced in a private,
residential septic system. Due to the presence of illegal chemicals in the water
of the septic tank, EHD has required you investigate the additional components
of the septic system in order to verify if the chemicals have migrated further.
AGE has proposed to collect soil samples below the distribution box and the
ends of each of two leach lines. The hand augering method proposed would
slant bore under each of the ends of the leach lines, just before the 25 foot-deep
pit and under the distribution box. Soil samples would be collected in `native' soil
just below the rock at the bottom of the leach line trench and distribution box.
No less than three (3) soil samples are to be analyzed for gasoline, fuel
oxygenates typically found in gasoline, previously detected Acetone and
Benzene, and solvents.
The required boring permit application and application fee has been submitted to
EHD and is being processed.
The proposal is adequate and necessary and is approved. Your consultant may
start the work once an appointment has been confirmed by EHD.
All chromatograms for all of the laboratory analyses are to be included in the
report submitted to EHD. Any anomalies (unidentified chemicals, matrix
interferences, poor surrogate recovery, etc) noted may require additional
laboratory testing to identify the anomalies or validate the analysis.
