High TECh ENTERPRiSES
19 December 2002
To: Mrs. Deborah Miller
24876 Suttenfield Road
Acampo, CA 95220
From: Edward W. Finucane, PE, QEP, CSP, CIH
Subject: Report#021201-L-F, concerning the measured levels of toxic chemicals in the septic
tank on the property located at:
24876 Suttenfield Road
Acampo, CA 95220
The contents of the septic tank on your property was sampled on 13 December 2002, and these sam-
pled contents subsequently analyzed on 14 December 2002 by CeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc. of
Modesto, CA. The results of these analyses have been included with this letter, and are designated as
GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc. Report#N347-12.
The test designated as EPA 150.1 is the standard acid/alkali determination that provides a pH value
of any solution being tested. Elemental iodine and dissolved iodides were determined following EPA
Procedures 345.1 and SM4500-1 B. Finally, a detailed overall evaluation of the organic chemicals in
the tank contents was completed using EPA Methods 8260B, which is an analytical procedure that
calls for a combination of gas chromatography and quadruple mass spectrometry. Please note that
the units listed for the various analyte concentrations under this 8260E procedure are reported as
"µg/liter", a unit that is, in effect, micrograms per kilogram, or,basically, parts per billion by weight
or mass.
I have also enclosed my own calculations that show the maximum possible volumes (in both ml and
teaspoons) of each of those organics that were found not to have non-detectable concentration levels.
Ultimate conclusions as to the import of all of these test results must be provided to you by the Envi-
ronmental Health Department, which is a branch of the San Joaquin County Public Health Service.
Thank you very much for permitting me to be of service to you in this matter.
Sincerely,
13749
Edward W.
