Section 2 2012
.t1:9a C`L SF'
Local Hydrologic Overview
Recent monitoring of groundwater measurements (1995-2010) indicates that the elevation to
groundwater generally varies from 63 to 77 feet (NGVD29), with the land elevation being
approximately 94 feet. It can be seen in Figure 2-2 that the ground water elevations vary
significantly between wells, with MW 11 and MW 5 having the lowest and highest groundwater
elevations, respectively. Additionally, there is significant "seasonality" to the data with the
highest groundwater elevations generally being reported for all monitoring wells during the
winter/spring and the lowest elevations reported during summer/fall seasons. The likely cause
of this apparent seasonality is recharge during the winter wet months and summer pumping of
agricultural wells during the summer and fall, when water demands are at their highest. There
also appears to be a groundwater elevation relationship with the Stanislaus River stage, with
high flows correlating in higher groundwater elevations. This influence could be due to higher
water elevations influencing the groundwater gradient or the high water being a result of
higher seasonal rain, recharging the ground water and independently increasing the river flows.
It is also apparent that groundwater elevations have consistently been declining over the recent
years with water levels dropping approximately 2-3 feet from 1995 to 2010.
Figure 2-2: Historical Monitoring Well Groundwater Elevations.
2i WclL G ht vS4a --►—W4.I HAL:
—Af0.1-3 WX113 Nr'-U
85
y.1' ' '{ •` r I a* °''r' k.f` 't. p,r h Jh i e J,„,i+ *. , .'L A.:
ti., i = 1rTy w► w r
, ► I I 1kJ
is
_ •_ t 3
- i
Vt
1.II
;0 Q
f ,,[ , rye.
l* est •F •r_ry '.{Y{' i f" 1'Y, ,, '•.51 ?7 `.15 1 ri Rty f.' " `l
I4'3'' r•1' 49'• (y f'Y' f "1 (h''•Yaf' f Rs.r+GYie 11' 1'<,.tiC'4e
k ,ih :i% Y tiir
Eco:logic,City of Riverbank 2009 Annual Report
6 City of Riverbank Waste Water Treatment Facility Background Water Quality Monitoring Well Work Plan
