GEOTECHNICAL
NEIL O. ANDERSON ENVIRONMENTAL
A N D A S S O C I A T E S INSPECTIONS a TESTING
LABORATORY SERVICES
POOL ENGINEERING
POST TENSION DESIGN
PHASE II ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT WORKPLAN
SACRAMENTO STREET PROJECT
1225 S. SACRAMENTO STREET
LODI, CALIFORNIA
OUR PROJECT NUMBER: E07087A
1.0 SUMMARY
Neil 0. Anderson & Associates, Inc. (NOA) has been retained by Andy Stephens of A. M.
Stephens Construction, to conduct a Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment for the
property located at 1225 South Sacramento Street, Lodi, San Joaquin County, California. The
property is planned for purchase.
The subject property is located adjacent to Holz Rubber. Our office previously completed a
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (May 2007) in which we identified several areas of
concern. Based on the Phase I, two possible USTs were located at the subject property and no
records were located for the tanks' removal. In addition, the properties to the north, south and
east are part of a known SLIC site (Holz Rubber). Impacts from the neighboring property may
have migrated onto the subject property. This Phase II is intended to address concerns related
to the potential for soil and soil vapor contamination from the Holz property and to probe the
UST locations to identify if contamination is located near the tank pits.
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) requires a workplan be
prepared before drilling permits can be issued for environmental investigations. A drilling
permit will be required for the proposed borings near the possible underground storage tank
locations, the exploratory boreholes and the soil vapor boreholes.
The workplan is organized into the following sections: general information, health and safety
plan, soil sampling procedures, proposed time schedule for work, and report preparation. We
understand the investigation may not proceed until after EHD staff approval of the workplan
and issuance of a drilling permit. A California licensed geologist and engineer will oversee the
investigation on the site.
1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Soil Sample Purpose, Location, and Depth
The basic purpose for collecting soil samples is to identify any impacts to on-site soils or soil
vapors which may have occurred as a result of leakage from the possible underground storage
tanks and to identify possible impacts from the adjacent properties.
LODI • SACRAMENTO WALNUT CREEK • RENO • MODESTO
L 0 D 1 902 Industrial Way Lodi,CA 95240 • 209.367.3701 • FAX 209.369.4228
