04 June 2008
AGE-NC Project No. 08-1605
water after being washed with a solution of Alconox. Geoprobe rods were thoroughly cleaned prior
to soil probe boring advancement.
ANALYTICAL METHODS
Four soil samples collected at depths of 20 and 45 feet bsg from boring B-1 (B1-20 and BI-45), 20
feet bsg in boring B-2 (132-20)and 50 feet bsg in boring B-3 (133-50)were transported under chain-
of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories (CTEL), a California Department of Public
Health-certified laboratory, for analysis for:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M; and
• Total volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and
xylene(BTEX),ethylene dibromide(EDB), 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA),tert-butyl alcohol
(TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether
(TAME), and methyl tert-buyl ether(MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
FINDINGS
Field observations(utilizing the OVM)did not detect the presence of high concentration of organic
vapors in any of the soil samples collected. In addition, petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors were not
detected in any of the soil samples collected.
Chemicals of concern were not detected at or above detections limits in the four soil samples
analyzed. A copy of the laboratory report (CTEL Laboratory Report CT214-0805194) is included
in Appendix A.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon non-detectable concentrations of contaminants in soil samples,AGE recommends that
no further action be taken at the site.
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
