(ARCADIS) has reviewed the comments provided by the Jennifer Wagler
Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for the Site Investigation Report
(SIR) prepared for the property at 401 North San Jose Street in Stockton, California Phone:
(Site). Chevron Environmental Management Company (CEMC) is managing this 925.296.7819
project on behalf of Texaco Inc. (Texaco). ARCADIS, on behalf of CEMC, submitted Email:
the SIR on April 7, 2011 and recommended additional assessment and installation of Jennifer.Wagler@arcadis-
monitoring wells at the Site. RWQCB provided comments in a letter dated August us.com
19, 2011 and requested CEMC submit a work plan proposing locations of additional
soil sampling and groundwater monitoring wells to further assess soil and our ref:
groundwater conditions at the Site. Reponses to the RWQCB comments and a B0046810.0001
summary of proposed assessment activities are presented below.
"Two above ground storage tanks(ASTs) were formerly located on the western
portion of the property. Previous investigations show diesel pollution in groundwater
in this area. CPT data from CEMC's November investigation are very shallow and
are not sufficient to characterize the condition of soil and groundwater in this area.
Additional multi-depth soil and groundwater samples need to be collected on the
western portion of the property where the ASTs were located."
Response to Comment#1
ARCADIS concurs that two ASTs were formerly located on the western portion of the
property and a previous investigation of this area reported diesel concentrations in
Imagine the result
g:\projects\chevron\401 n.san Jose st\technical\rwgcb-rtc\response to rwqcb comments.doc
