A safe perimeter has <br /> been established at. 20 feet around drill rig <br /> No unauthorized person should be within this exclusion area. <br /> D. HAZARD EVALUATION <br /> The following substance(s) or hazards are on or suspected to be on <br /> site. <br /> Substances involved Concentrations <br /> Gasoline up to 9,900 ppm <br /> The primary hazards of each are identified as follows: <br /> 1. Gasoline - Components of these substances are colorless liquids <br /> with strong petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable <br /> and have low solubility in water. Exposure to these materials in <br /> excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye, nose, and <br /> throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central <br /> nervous system. Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations <br /> include headache, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, and loss of <br /> coordination. Certain components of hydrocarbon fuels are suspected <br /> carcinogens. <br /> The following additional hazards are expected on site: typical <br /> work related to facility, snapped cables on rig, noise <br /> E. MONITORING EQUIPMENT <br /> The following environmental monitoring instruments shall be used on <br /> site (cross out if not applicable) at the specified intervals. <br /> Monitoring will be performed for the people working closest to the <br /> excavation. <br /> Combustible Gas Indicator - continuous/hourly/daily/other <br /> Oxygen Monitor - continuous/hourly/daily/other <br /> Colorimetric Tubes - <br /> PID - continuous/hourly/daily/other <br /> Other - continuous/hourly/daily/other <br />
