INTERIM WORK PLAN:
MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
Genova Bakery
749 North Sierra Nevada
Stockton, California =
April, 1994
1,0 INTRODUCTION
In accordance with a request from Mr. Ron Bruno, of Genova Bakery, Geological Audit
Services, Inc. (GeoAudit) has prepared this work plan to drill and install three groundwater
monitoring wells at and near 749 North Sierra Nevada in Stockton, California (the site). The
location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1. Plans of the site are illustrated in Figures 2 and
3.
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Description
The site is located at the southwest corner of North Sierra Nevada Street and Flora Street
in Stockton, California. The site currently operates as Genova Bakery. The property is
occupied by a single building. One 350 gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) was
removed from the sidewalk on the west side of North Sierra Nevada Street in September
1989 (Figures 2 and 3). It was determined at this time that an unauthorized release of
hydrocarbons had occurred, and further investigation was required.
2.2 Contamination Assessment
Assessment of hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater at this site was performed by
Groundwater Technology, Inc. between 1987 and 1989. Seven groundwater monitoring wells
were installed on or near the site. Free product was observed in MW-1 and MW-2 and was
removed by representatives of Genova Bakery. No contamination was detected in the other
five wells.
The monitoring wells were drilled and installed to depths of 55 feet. At the time of
installation,groundwater depth was appro)dmately 42 feet.Subsequently,,groundwater depth
fell below 55 feet and all wells are now dry.
A.&S—im1
Onew 9.Iaq%?A- IA
