r <br /> r <br /> QUARTERLY REPORT <br /> r Genova Bakery <br /> 749 Sierra Nevada Street <br />' Stockton, California <br /> July 1994 <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> M accordance with a request from Mrs Donna Bruno, co-executor of the Rollen estate, <br /> Geological Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this quarterly report for property <br /> located at 749 North Sierra Nevada Street in Stockton, California The project is being <br /> conducted for the estate of Angelo Rollen under the supervision of the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services-Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) This report documents <br /> the installation and sampling of two additional monitoring wells and two investigative <br /> borings The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated in <br /> Figure 2 <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Location <br />' The site is located at the corner of North Sierra Nevada Street and Flora Street in Stockton, <br /> California The site currently operates as Genova Bakery The property is occupied by a <br /> single building One 350 gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST)was removed from <br /> beneath the sidewalk, on the west side of North Sierra Nevada Street, in September 1989 <br /> Samples collected from beneath the UST indicated that an unauthonzed release of <br /> hydrocarbons had occurred The PHS/EHD required investigation of the lateral and vertical <br /> extent of petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> t2.2 Hydrocarbon Impacted Soil and Groundwater Assessment <br /> Assessment of hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater at this site was completed by <br /> Groundwater Technology, Inc and reported in November 1987 and October 1988 Seven <br /> groundwater monitonng wells were installed on or near the site Free product was observed <br />' in MW-1 and MW-2 and was removed by representatives of Genova Bakery No <br /> contamination was detected in the other five wells <br /> The assessment of hydrocarbon impacted soil indicated that vadose zone contamination was <br /> restricted to the area immediately below the former UST location.
