the pH, temperature, and conductivity of the water will be
measured and recorded. A record of the purging activities,
including the volume of water purged, the pump discharge rate,
and the start and finish time of purging will be maintained in
the field log book and on the sample log sheet.
Once the wells have been purged, the pump will be pulled from the
well. Provided no measurable floating product was observed,
water samples will be collected by lowering a conventional teflon
bailer into the well as soon as practic after purging. If
floating product was measured, a ief" baile will be used for ,
sample collection. The bailer will--b-e- lowered into each well
using new, clean monofillament line. This line will not be
reused between wells. Water collected in the bailer will be
poured directly from the bailer into the sample bottle. The
bailer will be decontaminated between wells using the same
techniques as described for the split -spoon analytical sampling.
All water samples will be labeled in the field with an indelible
ink pen as they are collected. For each sample, the date and
time of sample collection, the sampler's initials, the project
name and the designated analyses will be recorded on the label
and on the sampling log sheet. Water samples will be identified
using the monitor well name.
5.6 Water Sampling Analytical Protocol
Water samples collected from the newly installed monitor wells
will be transported under chain -of -custody to WESTON Analytics'
Stockton, CA. laboratory and submitted for chemical analysis by
EPA Method 602 (aromatic volatile organics) and total petroleum
hydrocir o s per Method 8015 modified.
6.0 REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of the field program and receipt from the labora-
tory of all soil and water analytical results, WESTON will
prepare and submit a Problem Assessment report. This report will
include a field report detailing the on-site procedures as
executed, geologic logs of the exploratory boreholes and monitor
well boreholes, completion details of each monitor well as
constructed, and a figure showing the horizontal location of all
newly installed exploratory borings and monitor wells and direc-
tion of shallow ground water flow as determined from the wells.
All soil and water sample analytical results and copies of the
chain -of -custodies will be included. The report will provide an
interpretation of the data and recommendations for additional
work at the site, if such work is considered necessary. If such
work is recommended, specific locations, depths and analytical
parameters will be provided.
- 14 -
