A risk of an explosion or the <br />release of hazardous substances <br />(including, but not limited to, <br />oil, pesticides, chemicals or <br />radiation) in the event of an <br />accident or upset conditions? X <br />b. Possible interference with an <br />emergency response plan or an <br />emergency evacuation plan? X <br />Explanation: No releases of hazardous constituents are anticipated <br />during closure activities. Unauthorized individuals <br />will not be allowed in the area. Soil sampling is to <br />a shallow depth. Storage of waste will be in secured <br />areas with adequate containment for potential spills <br />or sudden releases. <br />A Health and Safety Plan is included in the Closure <br />Plan which addresses emergency notification and <br />actions in the event of accidental releases. Workers <br />are 40 -hour OSHA trained and will have a Site Safety <br />Officer present. Worker safety zones are established <br />to reduce accidental spread of hazardous waste. <br />Emergency response teams will be notified when <br />activities are going to occur. <br />9 <br />
