Work Plan to Delineate Soil
Contamination in the Ag Chem Area
ARCADIS Former Occidental Chemical Corporation
Lathrop, California
Consistent with DTSC guidance for comparison to screening levels
(DTSC,2011 b;Cook,2007)and precedent,cleanup goals will be based
on attaining a representative exposure point concentration across an exposure area.
Soil sample locations with risk drivers at exposure point concentrations that contribute
significantly to exceeding target risk levels will be excavated or otherwise remediated.
A statistical test will be done for the residual concentrations to demonstrate that the
95%UCL values for residual soil yields estimates of cancer risk and non-cancer
hazards at or below the target risk levels.Acceptable residual risk estimates will
support the assertion that the key"hotspots"of contamination in soil have been
addressed within the Ag Chem Area.
5.
