Extraction Well Installation <br /> Summary Report and Injection <br /> 97 ARCADIS Well Installation Work Plan <br /> Former Occidental Chemical <br /> Corporation Facility <br /> Lathrop, California <br /> In the event that one or more of the above lines of evidence cannot be obtained or conducted, a <br /> minimum of one additional line of evidence will be utilized as appropriate.Additional lines of evidence <br /> include(but are not limited to)the following: <br /> • Hand-clear the top 5 feet of each boring using a hand auger to minimize the potential for <br /> underground utility strikes <br /> • Private utility locating service <br /> • Research of state, county, or municipal records <br /> • Hydro-knife <br /> • Air-knife <br /> • Ground penetrating radar or radio frequency detector <br /> 4.1.2 Security Measures <br /> The work exclusion zone will consist of areas in the direct vicinity of the soil boring. Decontamination <br /> control zones(exclusion zone, contamination reduction zone, and/or support zone)will be established <br /> and demarcated in the field. <br /> The control zones will be identified during tailgate meetings, and entrance and exit to the exclusion <br /> zone will only be through controlled access points established for each work area.A visitor log will be <br /> maintained by on-site ARCADIS personnel. <br /> 4.1.3 Permits and Property Access <br /> A well installation permit will be obtained from the SJCEHD before drilling activities begin.The wells will <br /> be installed in accordance with the SJCEHD Well Standards(SJCEHD 2005). Property access for <br /> installation of INJ-14 will be obtained by the property owner, Pilkington Glass. <br /> 4.2 Well Installation <br /> INJ-14 will be advanced by a C-57 licensed drilling contractor using mud rotary drilling methodology <br /> unless an alternative method is deemed more appropriate. INJ-14 will be completed as a multi-level <br /> injection well screened across the intermediate and deep groundwater zones.The drill rig will be <br /> equipped with a minimum 12-inch-diameter drill bit for the 6-inch-diameter injection well.The boring will <br /> Wthmp well irut Ut.n report finel_(04-2413).d— 9 <br />
