5„ Wright <br /> % Environmental <br /> Services, Inc. <br /> d <br /> REr <br /> �� no <br /> Construction <br /> • Engineering ♦ Remediation <br /> APR 1 � 203 <br /> April 7,2003 VIBOKMEN� HEALTH <br /> Project No 459?'[F' i/SEB\ACE5 <br /> City of Tracy <br /> 520 South Tracy Boulevard <br /> Tracy, California 95376 <br /> Attn Mr Paul Verma <br /> Re: Soil and Groundwater Initial Site Assessment,Public Right of Way Near <br /> Delta Disposal, 99 Sixth Street, Tracy, CA <br /> PHS EHD Site Code#2183 <br /> Dear Mr Verma, <br /> Wright Environmental Services, Inc (Wright) has prepared this report on behalf of City of Tracy <br /> (property owner) for the Public not of way adjacent to the above referenced site This work is <br /> in response to letter dated May 6, 1998 from the San Joaquin Public Health Services <br /> • Environmental Health Division (PHS EHD) for additional site assessment This work is being <br /> done to address possible contaminants from an underground petroleum storage tanks and to <br /> check for presence of MTBE and related fuel oxygenates and physical characteristics of soil in <br /> the area <br /> Background <br /> Two underground petroleum storage tanks were removed in 1985 from a location that later <br /> became a portion of Sixth Street when the road was realigned The two tanks (one 350-gallon <br /> diesel and one 500-gallon gasoline) locations were excavated in May 1990 and soil samples <br /> collected at the west end of the excavation at that time showed 18,000 parts per million (ppm) of <br /> Total petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPHD) As a result of that information, PHS EHD <br /> requested additional site assessment <br /> Field Methods <br /> Exploratory Bonngs <br /> Three exploratory bonngs were drilled at the Iocations in Sixth Street and adjacent sidewalk <br /> shown on Figure 1 Drilling permits were secured from PHS EHD, and a utility clearance was <br /> performed prior to doing the fieldwork The boreholes were drilled with GeoProbe truck <br /> . mounted drilling equipment Boring locations were adjusted in the field due the proximity of <br /> 67 E 10th Street .
