PUBLIC H15ALTH SERVICIS
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY Q
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 95202
2091468-3420
JAMES GIOTTONINI
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR JAN 2 4 2000
CITY OF STOCKTON
425 N EL DORADO
STOCKTON CA 95202
RE: City of Stockton sites in the Local Oversight Program
A meeting was held on January 10, 2000, at the office of San Joaquin County
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD).
Representatives from the City of Stockton were you and John Fukomoto.
PHSIEHD representatives were Margaret Lagorio, Lori Duncan, Ron Rowe and
Jeff Wong. Representing your consultant, ATC Associates, was Jeanne
Homsey. The following is a summary of the site discussions.
Fontana Drive at Smith Canal
A Draft report on the work performed and the information gained from 3
soil borings drilled at the site has been submitted to the City of Stockton
by ATC. The report will be finalled and submitted to PHSIEHD for
comment. It was discussed that the information gathered to date from this
site, a mass balance calculation, a fate and transport evaluation of the
remaining contamination, and two additional rounds of water sample
collection and analysis may provide justification for a "no further action
required" determination for this site.
110 W. Sonora
A Draft report of the feasibility testing performed at the site has been
submitted to the City of Stockton by ATC. The report will be finalled and
submitted to PHSIEHD for comment. Air sparge/vapor extraction is the
remedial alternative recommended by ATC. A Corrective Action Plan will
be prepared.
1740 Houston
PHSIEHD has not commented on the report submitted by Advanced
GeoEnvironmental (AGE) that provided information on the installation of
two additional monitoring wells and sampling of all the monitoring wells.
PHSIEHD will comment on the report.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
