CHRONOLOGY
CITY OF STOCKTON FIRE STATION 2
110 SONORA, STOCKTON
04/01/87 A 1000 gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) (Tank 1)
was removed this date from near the southwest corner of the fire
station building. The Environmental Health Department (EHD)
inspector noted there were holes in the side of the UST and
gasoline odor to soil. The soil sample collected beneath the UST
confirmed petroleum contamination.
08/07/87 A 1000 gallon unknown UST (Tank 6) was removed from the
southeast corner of the parcel on this date. Low levels of kerosene
and motor oil were found in the soil samples collected from beneath
the UST.
05/23/88 A Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge and an Unauthorized
Release Report were filed this date.
12188 Monitoring wells MW 1 (screened from 34 — 54 feet), MW2
(screened from 25 —54) and MW3 (screened from 25-54 feet) were
installed. Groundwater contamination was confirmed.
03/07/90 Date site was placed in the Local Oversight Program.
0517-8190 Four soil borings (B4-B7) were drilled to a total depth of 35.5 feet
and MW4 (screened 30-55 feet) was installed during this time.
11/26/90 Date EHD received a Problem Assessment Report that includes the
work done in December 1988 through August 1990. MW 1 was
installed near the former location of Tank 1 and had high OVA
readings from 15 feet to 35 feet. Soil samples from MW 2 — MW4
and borings B4 — B7 had no detections of contamination. The PID
readings were zero except B5 (the sample at 30 feet had a reading
of 20 ppm but analysis was non detect). Soil contamination was
found from 10 to 25 feet in former Tank area. Groundwater at 25
feet appears to have spread the contamination.
04/23/92 A 500 gallon waste oil UST (Tank 4) was removed from the site this
date. Soil samples from beneath the UST were non detect.
8128-913192 Installation of RW-1 (screened 45 — 60 feet), PZ-1 (screened 39.5 —
59.5 feet), VW-1 (screened 15 — 30 feet), VW2 (dual screened 10 -
30 feet and 34 — 41 feet), VW3 (screened 15 — 30 feet) occurred
during this time. VW2 was placed in the former Tank 1 area and
