March 9, 1988 AGS 038009-1 <br /> Fire Engine Company No. 2, Stockton, California <br /> LOCAL GEOLOGY <br /> :h <br /> The site is located within the Eastern San Joaquin County Ground- <br /> Water Basin, as defined by the California Department of Water <br /> Resources (1950) . The area is underlain by flo,d basin and <br /> fluvial sediments consisting of clay, silt, and sand (California <br /> Division of Mines and Geology, 1965) . The topographic surface is <br /> nearly flat with a slight westward slope. There are two surface <br /> P� <br /> streams in the vicinity of the site: Mormon Slough is located <br /> approximately 500 feet to the southwest, and the eastward <br /> extension of the Stockton Deep Water Channel (including MacLeod <br /> Lake) is located approximately 2,000 feet to the north and <br /> northwest. Both bodies of -water empty into the San Joaquin River <br /> approximately 2 miles downstream from the site. <br /> Based on our experience in the vicinity, the depth to first <br /> ground .pater is estimated to be approximately 20 feet below the <br /> ground surface.
