PROPOSAL <br /> HYDROCARBON ABATEMENT PROGRAM <br /> 7-ELEVEN STORE, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> Groundwater Technology, Inc. has been authorized by the <br /> Southland Corporation to continue the ongoing investigation <br /> program for the 7-Eleven Store located at 91.10 Thornton Road in <br /> Stockton, California. The work program outlined below is <br /> designed to compliment previously developed data, collect <br /> additional data needed to delineate the plume extent, predict <br /> it's miaration, and develop and implement a comprehensive <br /> abatement program. Groundwater Technology, Inc. has designed the <br /> program so that each work step is performed as expeditiously as <br /> possible due to the apparent rate of contaminant migration and to <br /> li;nit, to the extent possible, potential public exposure to the <br /> subsurface contawination. <br /> «� BACKGROUND <br /> Preliminary hydrogeologic studies conducted for the South- <br /> land Corporation by Groundwater Technology, Inc. have identified <br /> a zone of soil (adsorbed) , groundwater (dissolved), vapor and <br /> free phase hydrocarbon contamination beneath and in the vicinity <br /> of the 7-Eleven Store Stockton site (See Figure 1). The source <br /> of the inadvertent loss was an unleaded product line which has <br /> been shut down since April of 1986. An initial free product <br /> recovery and water treatment system was installed at the site as <br /> a preliminary remedial action measure. To date in excess of 430 <br /> gallons of product has been recovered from the water table <br /> surface. A water sampling program has been conducted on domestic <br /> water wells in the vicinity of the site to determine if they <br /> have been impacted.
