t_ <br /> ASSOCIATE S INC <br />' AIR SPARGE/VAPOR EXTRACTION <br /> PILOT TEST RESULTS <br /> AND <br />' FEASIBILITY STUDY <br /> Stockton Fire Engine company No. 2 <br /> 110 West Sonora Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 1 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' On behalf of the City of Stockton, ATC Associates Inc has prepared this report for the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (PHS/EHD), which <br /> ' summarizes results of air sparge/vapor extraction pilot testing performed at Stockton Fire Engine <br /> Company No 2 located at 110 West Sonora Street in Stockton, California The testing was <br /> performed to evaluate the feasibility of using air sparging combined with vapor extraction to <br /> remove dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons from groundwater beneath the site The scope of work <br /> for tins study included performing two short-term vapor extraction pilot tests, abandoning vapor <br /> well VW-2s, performing a short-term air sparge pilot test, collecting air sparge and vapor <br /> ' extraction response data, collecting groundwater and vapor samples for laboratory analysis, and, <br /> preparing this report This report describes test methods, presents field and laboratory data, and <br /> presents conclusions concerning the feasibility of utihzing air sparging and vapor extraction to <br /> ' reduce gasoline hydrocarbon concentrations at the site <br /> ATC has also performed a feasibility study as requested by PHS/EHD in correspondence dated <br /> ' December 6, 1999 The feasibility study contains an evaluation of remedial action alternatives for <br /> the remediation of impacted soil and groundwater beneath the site <br /> ' 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> ' 221 General <br /> Fire Engine Company No 2 is an operating Fire Station The site is located in an area of commercial <br /> ' and residential development and is a predominantly asphalt- and concrete-covered lot The site is <br /> bound by West Sonora Street to the north, Commerce Street on the east,the property line to the south, <br /> and Madison Street on the west(Figure 1) <br /> ' According to information supplied by the City of Stockton, the following USTs were removed from <br /> the site on the given dates, and the excavations backfilled <br /> W 162574 Mpdot-fs report dor 1 <br />
