T r - <br /> *ATC <br /> A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br /> The investigation included drilling seventeen soil borings, installing five groundwater monitoring <br /> wells, five vapor extraction wells, one piezometer, and one recovery well, collecting and analyzing <br /> soil and groundwater samples, monitoring fluid levels in the wells, performing a groundwater <br /> aquifer test, and performing a soil vapor extraction test (VET) A complete summary of previous <br /> environmental work performed on site is contained in RESNA Industries' Inc Final Remediation <br /> Plan for Soil and Groundwater Remediation, dated November 17, 1994 <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> ATC has completed the well destruction permit application for the proposed well abandonment <br /> The permit application and associated fees (check no 185) are attached to this workplan ATC <br /> will also schedule field personnel and equipment, notify Underground Service Alert to locate <br /> underground utilities as required, and perform any other necessary field preparation and fob start- <br /> up activities <br /> ATC personnel will supervise the abandonment of vapor well VW-2s by a State licensed (C57) <br /> drilling company Well locations are shown on Figure 2 The well will be pressuret with <br /> neat cement from the bottom to the surface The neat cement will be pumped into the well using <br /> a tremae pipe <br /> Currently, there is an obstruction inside well VW-2s It is believed that the obstruction extends <br /> from approximately one-half foot to two feet below ground surface The obstruction appears to <br /> be soil and debris from the site The top two feet of the well casing and the existing cracked <br /> grout will be excavated and removed prior to the grouting of well VW-2s Since well VW-2s is a <br /> nested well with well VW-2d, extreme caution will be used when excavating the well casing and <br /> grout from around well VW-2s If vapor well VW-2d is damaged in the process, it will also be <br /> abandoned and the need for a replacement vapor well will be evaluated <br /> All work described in this workplan will be performed under the direction of a California <br /> Registered Professional Engineer All work will be performed in accordance with ATC's Site <br /> Safety Plan (SSP) and Quality Control/Quality Assurance Plan on file with PHS/EHD <br /> Proiected Schedule <br /> Once approval of this workplan and permit application have been received, ATC will schedule <br /> field activities It is anticipated the well abandonment will be completed in one-half day <br /> w 162574162574 011943671welitr doc <br /> 2 <br />
