20 November 2002
AGE-NC Project No 01-0827
I33 MASS CALCULATIONS
Based on the hydrocarbon concentration of TPH-d/TPH-mo in previous soil boring Sam les and th_
av can=ntrations of TPH- PH-mo in soil from the excavation, an estimated 82 kilograms
I of diesel and 176 kilograms of motor oil were removed om the site unng the soil excavation
roce ures The mass an vo ume d in Appendix D
I
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
I 0 Approximately 82 kilograms, or 25 gallons, of diesel and 176 kilograms, or 55 gallons, of
motor oil were removed from the site, however, low concentrations of TPH-mo were still
detected in soil samples collected from the base and south and west walls of the excavation
The maximum TPH-mo concentrations remaining in soil were detected on the south wall of
' the excavation at a maximum concentration of 510 mg/kg
• BTEX compounds were detected in samples collected from the south wall of the soil
I• excavation at low concentrations, the maximum concentration was 1 0 mg/kg toluene
collected from the soil sample at 25 feet bsg
I e Ground water was present within the excavation at a depth of 25 feet bsg after a duration of
48 hours No water samples were collected during this investigation, however, laboratory
analysis of grab ground water samples collected from soil bonngs P1 through P5 (see
IFigure 2)during the preliminary site investigation of 08 and 15 July 2002 did not detect any
analytes of concern .
I • To date, AGE's ground water monitoring results at the Fire Station No 2 north UST area
inferred that the ground water flow direction have been consistently northeast or east
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the remediation activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends no
further site assessment of the fuel oil release
I
1
Advanced GeoEnvaonmental,Inc
I
