FINDINGS
Soil descriptions were determined from field data Hydrocarbon-impact to soil and ground waterwas
' quantified by laboratory analysis of the soil and ground water samples
' 3 1 STRATIGRAPHY AND DEPTH TO GROUND WATER
Silt and clay with a tan or gray color, apparently depending on hydrocarbon impact, was encountered
from a depth of approximately 5 feet to 28 feet bsg Gray to tan sand with gravel was present
between 28 feet and 30 feet bsg Silt and clay wA encountered again from 30 feet to 50 feet bsg
Ground water was encountered at a depth of 30 feet bsg during drilling
Soil boring logs are provided in Appendix A A stratigraphic cross section is depicted in Figure 3,
the extent and concentrations of impacted soil is also depicted in Figure 3
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
TPH-d was detected in soil samples collected from boring P 1 at depths from 5 feet to 20 feet bsg
(Figure 3), the maximum concentrations of TPH-d as well as TPH-o, were 1,700 milligrams per
kilogram (mg/kg) and 3,300 mg/kg, respectively in sample P1-10
Various BTEX compounds were detected in soil samples collected from boring P1 at depths from
5 feet to 20 feet bsg, the highest concentrations were 0 05 mg/kg benzene (P1-10), 0 085 mg/kg
toluene (P1-5), 0 065 mg/kg ethylbenzene (PI-10) and 0 18 mg/kg xylenes (P1-10) Samples
collected at or below 25 feet in P1 and the remaining bonngs did not have detections of
hydrocarbons
Total lead was detected in soil samples P 1-10 and PI-15 at concentrations of 6 9 mg/kg and
15 mg/kg, respectively
Analytical results from soil samples are summarized in Table 1 The laboratory report(CalTech Lab
I0207-040-4 to-9, 0207-040-11tol2, 0207-102-1 to-3), quality assurance and quality control
(QA/QC) and chain-of-custody are included in Appendix B
I
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
