10 April 2002
AGE-NC Project No 01-0827
Depths to ground water ranged from 20 50 to 22 21 feet below the well casing tops The relative
ground water elevations at the site ranged from 10 60 to 10 96 feet below mean sea level (MSL)
The ground water flow ranged between east-northeast at the northern portion ofthe site and northeast
at the southern portion on the site, the hydraulic gradient was approximately 0 001 ft/ft (Figure 3)
3 5 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in four of the eight ground water samples, at concentrations ranging from
160 gg/1(RW-1)to 22,336µg/1(VW-2d) TPH-d was not detected in the eight groundwater samples
collected
Benzene was detected in six ground water samples at a maximum concentration of 82 µg/1(MW-1)
Toluene, ethyibenzene and total xylenes were detected in four samples(MW-1,VW-1,VW-2d and
RWA), the maximum concentrations were detected in the sample from VW-2d at 67 µg/1, 36 µg/1
land 138 µg/l, respectively No other ground water samples contained detectable concentrations of
BTEX
( MTBE was detected in ground water samples MW-1 and VW-2d at concentrations of 1 0 µg/1 and
2 2 µg11, respectively TAME was detected in the sample from well VW-2d at a concentration of
I 2 7µg/l The chlorinated solvent 1,2-DCA was detected in ground water samples MW-1,VW-1 and
RW-1 at concentrations of 5 8 µg/l, 0 7 µg/1 and 16 gg/l, respectively
The analytical results are summarized in Tables 4 and 5 A copy of the laboratory report (PET Lab
ID 14050-01 to -10) and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix D
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
• Approximately 279 2 kg or 98 4 gallons of hydrocarbons were extracted and destroyed by
the SVE network at the site between 05 November 2001 and 18 February 2002
• On 11 January 2002 the ground water elevation in the monitored area averaged 10 81 feet
below mean sea level, the flow direction was inferred to be toward the northeast under a
gradient of 0 001 ft/ft
• The maximum hydrocarbon concentration in ground water was detected to the sample from
the on-site vapor well VW-2d,the maximum concentrations ofBTEX compounds were also
detected in the sample from VW-2d MTBE was detected in the samples from VW-2 and
MW-1
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
