' 24 July 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 01-0827 <br />' Page 3 of 6 <br /> • BTEX compounds and fuel oxygenated compounds - tertiary butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl <br /> ether (DIPE), ethyl tert butyl ether(ETBE), tert amyl methyl ether(TAME) and MTBE, in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified, and <br />' • Methanol, ethanol, 1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and ethylene dibromide (EDB) by EPA <br /> Method 8260 <br /> I <br /> 3.0 FINDINGS <br />' From field data collected at the SVE remediation system between 12 March and 11 June 2002,AGE <br /> determined the average TPH-g concentration and the average flow rate, and calculated the <br /> approximate mass and volume of hydrocarbons removed Ground water flow direction and gradient <br /> from the field data collected on 03 May 2002,the contaminant impact to ground water was assessed <br /> from the laboratory data <br /> 3 1 SOIL-VAPOR EXTRACTION <br /> The SVE unit was operated continuously during the period between 12 March and 11 June 2002, <br /> except during maintenance, the unit typically operated at between 100 to 110 cubic feet per minute <br /> (cfin) An induced vacuum(negative pressure) of approximately 30 inches of water was measured <br /> in the piping between the blower and extraction wells An induced vacuum of approximately 0 11 <br /> inches and 0 01 inches was measured at well MW-1 and MW-3, distances of 10 feet and 45 feet, <br /> respectively, from the extraction wells Utilizing a photo ionization meter (PID), hydrocarbon <br /> concentrations were measured between 0 and 53 parts per million (ppm) at the SVE intake during <br /> this period Field measurements are summarized in Table 1 <br /> 32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL-GAS VAPOR SAMPLES <br /> TPH-g was detected from the influent SVE air flow samples collected on 13 March and 14 April <br /> 2002 at concentrations of 82 micrograms/liter(µg/l)and 68 gg/l, respectively TPH-g was detected <br /> in the 13 March 2002 effluent air flow sample at a concentration of 110 gg/l <br /> Xylenes was detected from the influent SVE air flow samples collected on 13 March and 14 April <br /> 2002 at concentrations of 2 2 ggll and 0 69 µg/l, respectively Toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes <br /> were detected to the effluent SVE air flow sample collected on 13 March 2002 at concentrations of <br /> 8 7 gg/l, 19 µg11 and 12 µg/1, respectively <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
