Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc . - - <br /> 28 January 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 01-0827 <br /> JAN 3 0 2003 <br /> Ms Sharla Hardy ENVIRONMENT HEALTH <br /> City of Stockton PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> 425 N El Dorado Street, Third Floor <br /> n <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject: Ozone Sparging Work Plan Addendum <br /> FIRE STATION #2 <br /> 110 West Sonora Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms Hardy <br /> At the request of the City of Stockton,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc has prepared this Ozone <br /> Sparging Work Plan Addendum for the remediation of the unauthorized release of hydrocarbons <br /> from the common underground storage tank(UST) area at the north end of the property located at <br /> 110 West Sonora Street, Stockton, California (the site) This addendum was prepared in response <br /> to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD) letter, dated 03 January 2003, <br /> requesting procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of the operation of the in-situ air sparing <br /> (IAS)system with a low-flow,ozone generator The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 and <br /> a plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> In the original AGE-prepared Ozone Sparging and Additional Monitoring Well Installation Wol k <br /> Plan,dated 07 October 2002,AGE had proposed to utilize the current network of two-inch diameter, <br /> v ^2 liar:iA J1 'n <br /> LL LA J�.icc% ,,dins iiia uii.0 �:. a �0-t of 35 w �e+ 1�el nc., <br /> .,.. ic.v... b. <br /> administer the ozone In the 03 January 2003 letter, the EHD has request an analysis of the AGE <br /> proposal to augment the in-situ IAS system with a low-flow,ozone generator without using diffusers <br /> for the delivery of ozone by microsparging ~ <br /> The ozone system will be evaluated based on the change in dissolved hydrocarbon concentrations <br /> in ground water, as determined by quarterly analytical results of ground water samples collected at <br /> well VW-213 If a 75% reduction of the dissolved contaminants had not occurred after six months <br /> of continual ozone delivery to the current air-sparging well network, the air-sparging/ozone <br /> distribution network should be modified by adding one ozone diffuser to the ozone delivery network <br /> The diffuser AGE proposes to use will be a K-V Associates Inc or equivalent, one-inch diameter <br /> ozone sparge-point,screened from 38 to 40 feet bsg The diffuser will be installed at the former UST <br /> location near air-sparging well IAS-2, this well is located v%ithin the highest areal distribution of <br /> dissolved hydrocarbons Procedures for drilling and well installation were outlined within the <br /> original work plan <br /> 837 Shaw Road,Stockton,California 95215 <br /> Telephone(209) 467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118 <br />
