t <br /> r <br /> A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br />' DESIGN PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br /> FOR <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION <br />' Stockton Fire Engine Company No. 2 <br /> 110 West Sonora Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> ' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> On Behalf of the City of Stockton, ATC Associates Inc has prepared these Design Plans and <br /> ' Specifications for the proposed remediation system at Fire Engine Company No 2 in Stockton, <br /> California The proposed remediation system is designed to cleanup petroleum hydrocarbon impacted <br /> soil and groundwater at the site The hydrocarbon of primary concern is gasoline While diesel and <br /> methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) have also been detected at the site, the extents and concentrations <br /> are generally less of a concern than gasoline <br /> ATC previously prepared a Final Remediation Plan for the site that included a conceptual design for a <br /> groundwater air sparge (AS) system combined with a vapor extraction system (VES) to remediate <br /> ' gasoline hydrocarbons As a result of the gasoline remediation, it was anticipated that diesel and <br /> MTBE would also be remeihated, either directly or by enhanced natural attenuation In <br /> correspondence dated June 19, 2000, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental <br /> Health Division (PHS/EM) requested additional information and design plans and specifications <br /> which are included in tlus report <br /> ' 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> The subject site is located on the southwest corner of Commerce Street and Sonora Street in Stockton, <br /> ' California, as shown on Figure 1, Site Vicinity Map The location of the existing monitoring wells, <br /> vapor extraction wells, station building, former underground storage tanks(USTs), and other pertinent <br /> features are shown on Figure 2, Generalized Site Plan Between April 1, 1987 and October 28, 1993, <br /> ' six USTs were removed from the site The location of tanks T1 through TS are shown on Figure 2 <br /> The exact location of tank T6 is not known, but the tank was located in the southeast portion of the <br /> site, near Commerce Street, and south of Church Street According to information provided to ATC 1 <br /> ' by PHS/EHD, samples obtained from the location of T6 following overexcavation were below <br /> detection levels for gasoline hydrocarbons <br /> Fire Engine Company No 2 is an operating fire station The site is located in an area of commercial <br /> and residential development and is a predominantly asphalt- and concrete-covered lot The site is <br /> bound by West Sonora Street to the north, Commerce Street on the east,the property line to the south, <br /> and Madison Street on the west <br /> W 162574 011CAP report doc 1 <br /> 1 <br />
