Working to Restore Nature <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive, Suite 200 <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916) 852-6690 <br /> Fax (916) 852-6688 <br /> September 28, 1993 <br /> Mr. James Escobar <br /> Department of Public Works <br /> City Hall <br /> Stockton, California 95202-1997 <br /> Subject Status Report, Environmental Investigation, Third Quarter 1993, Fire Engine <br /> Company No 2, 110 West Sonora Street, Stockton, California <br /> Mr. Escobar <br /> This letter report summarizes the results of the environmental investigation conducted <br /> during the third quarter 1993 by RESNA Industries (RESNA) at the subject site (shown on <br /> Plate 1) The work was conducted at the request of the City of Stockton, Department of <br /> Public Works (City of Stockton) and included measuring depths to groundwater, collecting <br /> groundwater samples from the wells for subjective and laboratory analyses, and evaluating <br /> the groundwater gradient and direction of groundwater flow beneath the site <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> i <br /> In April 1987, a 1,000-gallon unleaded gasoline tank was removed and residual hydrocarbons <br /> were detected in the soil rematrung under the former tank In April 1992, a 250-gallon <br /> waste-oil tank was removed The locations of the former and existing tanks are shown on <br /> Plate 2 In 1988, The City of Stockton contracted RESNA to conduct a subsurface <br /> investigation to assess the extent of residual hydrocarbons in soil The investigation <br /> performed between 1988 and 1992 included drilling thirteen soil borings, installing four <br /> groundwater monitoring wells, three vapor-extraction wells, one piezometer, and one <br /> recovery well, collecting and analyzing soil and groundwater samples for hydrocarbons, and <br /> performing a groundwater pulse test and a soil vapor-extraction test (Applied GeoSystems, <br /> November 20, 1990, Problem Assessment Report No 38009-2, and RESNA, December 8, <br /> 1992, Letter Report No, 38009-4) <br /> 0820sese <br /> 38009-4 <br />
