The soils at the site
have been contaminated with lead and other metals which may pose a threat to the water quality.
The full lateral and vertical extent of the soil contamination at the site has not been defined, nor has
the potential effect on ground water quality been determined.
There are a number of issues that need to be addressed including what the final soil cleanup levels
will be at the site. However, interim remediation of the soils should begin as soon as possible.
Therefore, by 15 March 1993 please submit a revised work plan which addresses all of the
comments in the memorandum including a schedule for implementation of interim soil remediation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (916) 255-3077.
w4'ur L ' tl/1/V
4,Joel M.
