Mr.-David a. Rosso
California State University Stanislaus
1252 N. Stanislaus Street,_Stockton
Page 2 of 2 E
The shallow wells locations are appropriate, 'although the total depths on these
. wells should not penetrate the upper clayey;unit that bottoms at 52 to 55 feet
bsg, as this may permit vertical communication between the first water zone and
the mixed silt-silty sand and 'stiff fine-grained' interval between 52/55 and 65/68
feet bsg. Based on the findings from the proposed work, the interval of mixed soil
types between 55 and 118 feet bsg, may.merit future additional characterization.
The analytical regimen proposed for groundwater and soil samples collected
during the investigation is appropriate and approved. Collection of the biological
natural attenuation indicator data as proposed is also approved. The bench-scale
test and any other analyses proposed to evaluate injection of oxygenating
substances must receive prior approval from Mr. James Barton of the Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) before
implementation.
EHD desires to assist you in this matter as much as possible. Questions or
comments may be directed to Nuel Henderson by mail (address on letter head),
by e-mail at nhenderson@sjcehd.com, or by telephone at (209)468-3436.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
/ r
Nuel C.
