This report has been provided to you in <br /> response to your letter to Captain Ken.Koop of the California Army National Guard, dated y j <br /> August 3, 2000. <br /> In the letter to Capt..Koop it is stated, in paragraph 44, that.four of six soil samples to be <br /> .collected beneath the UST hold-down slab were nod collected. m paragraph #6 it states that the <br /> I <br /> four samples referred to in paragraph#4 are required to be collected before UST Site closure will <br /> occur. The-report attached to this'letfercontams the analytical results for all six soil samples <br /> collected beneath the UST hold-slab. Based on this information., the requirement for <br /> characterizing the soil beneath the hold-down slab has been met. <br /> I <br /> Versar, Inc. (Versar) understands further investigation.of the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> impact to soil in the southeast corner of the pit is still required.- Versar is working with the U.S. <br /> Army Corp of Engineers - Sacramento District, in preparing a work plan for this work. f <br /> If the County Environmental-Health Division agrees with our assertion that the requirement for <br /> soil characterization beneath the hold-down slab has been met, please confirm in writing or by 1 <br /> phone or e-mail message to Mr..Koop and/or myself.
