Sox 2009 • (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) • Stockton, California 95201 <br /> C4�iFpR�`P <br /> (209) 468-3400 <br /> U S NATIONAL GUARD BUREAU <br /> CAMP SAN LUIS OBISPO MAY 2 51593 <br /> SAN LUIS OBISPO CA 93406 L <br /> RE: Stockton Army Aviation SITE CODE: 1732 <br /> Support Facility <br /> 2000 Stimson Rd. <br /> Stockton, CA 95206 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)has <br /> reviewed the "Soil and Groundwater Investigation Report" dated March 25, 1993 submitted <br /> by Wallace-Kuhl and Associates and has the following comments. <br /> PHS/EHD concurs with the recommendation for additional soil borings to further define the <br /> soil contamination. <br /> Further investigation to the west is still required due to contamination found in sample B-1, <br /> 41. <br /> Further investigation to the northwest is still required towards MW-2 due to contamination <br /> found in samples B-2, 5I and B-2, GI. <br /> Further investigation to the northeast is still required due to contamination found in sample <br /> B-4, 41. <br /> PHS/EHD does not concur with the statement on page 5 which states that "The <br /> contamination appears to be limited to discrete horizontal layers between the depths of 20 <br /> and 30 feet, with the exception of trace concentrations of toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes <br /> in the five foot sample from boring DI-1." According to plate no 16, boring P-2 was drilled <br /> to a depth of 37 feet and is contaminated as found in sample P-2 (40). <br /> Until soil contamination has been remediated, quarterly ground water sampling shall begin <br /> with the next sampling event due the first week of June. <br /> Pursuant to Section 2652(d) of the Underground Storage Tank Regulations (California Code <br /> of Regulations, Title 23, Chapter 16) a quarterly monitoring report shall be submitted to <br /> Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division and Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) until the investigation and cleanup of the site is <br /> deemed adequate.
