CRONSiriNC <br /> May 10, 1996 t <br /> Mr Michael Infurna <br /> Public Health Services <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> 304 East Weber Street <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Reference Site Investigation Workplan Addendum for the Stockton Army Aviation Support Facility, <br /> 2000 Stimson Road, Stockton, California, Versar Project No 3372-001 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> Versar, Inc (Versar) is submitting the following workplan addendum for the Stockton Army Aviation <br /> Support Facility at 2000 Stimson Road in Stockton, California (Site) The workplan addendum is being <br /> submitted, on behalf of the Division of the State Architect (DSA), in response to a San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services (SJPHS) letter dated October 2, 1995 and ensuing verbal and written communications among <br /> Versar, DSA, and SJPHS The addendum addresses three tasks which were originally included in Versar's <br /> "Site Investigation Workplan, " dated August 1995, the workplan was approved by the SJPHS in a letter dated <br /> October 2, 1995 The following paragraphs discuss Versar's proposed changes to the tasks <br /> AftTask I. Soil Evaluation <br /> W <br /> In Section 3 1 1 Soil Evaluation of Versar's August 2, 1995 workplan, four soil borings were proposed to <br /> be drilled and sampled at the Site The purpose of the soil borings was to complete the defining of lateral and <br /> vertical extent of soil contamination identified in previous investigations at the Site, as requested in an SJPHS <br /> letter dated May 25, 1993 However, upon further review of the results of previous investigations at the Site <br /> and based on discussions with SJPHS, Versar is proposing to delete the installation of the soil borings at the <br /> Site - _,. <br /> lask_2. Groundwater Evaluation <br /> In section 3 2 Groundwater Evaluation of the August 2, 1995 workplan, Versar proposed to purge the <br /> three groundwater monitoring wells at the Site d collect for laboratory <br /> analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as het fuel (TPH-JP4) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes <br /> (BTEX) However, after further review of Site history and communications with the SJPHS, Versar is <br /> proposing to also analyze the samples collected during the first round of sampling for TPH as gasoline (TPH- <br /> G) and TPH as diesel (TPH-D) Based upon the analytical results for the first round of groundwater samples, <br /> subsequent samples collected during future groundwater monitoring events will be analyzed for TPH-JP4 and <br /> BTEX only <br /> Task zl Il ii <br /> In Section 3 4 On Site Soil Wastes, Versar proposed a sampling plan for stockpiled soil and drummed <br /> ,as <br /> oil at the Site However, based on further review of Site history and discussions with personnel from the <br /> • SACRAMENTO OFFICE - <br /> 7844 MADISON AVENUE,SUITE 167•FAIR OAKS,CALIFORNIA 95628•TELEPHONE (916)962-1612 FAX (916)962-2678 <br />
